Thinking aloud…

Our world is becoming interconnected more closely. It seems that it became smaller. Distances no longer appear as significant as before. They separate people to a lesser extent due to the opportunity for them to communicate regularly. The concept of time in the information society has changed slightly, as well. Besides, its psychological perception has changed — time has become more dynamic, at least that was so before the pandemic. Now we all need to prepare for a new post-pandemic world.

At the same time, it is worth noting that digital technology has presented new opportunities for diversification in agriculture. In the same way as the “smart cities” that have become the subject of discussion and concept development, the possibilities of information and communication technologies have led us to an acknowledgment of a variety of business systems. Information and communication technologies and data management started to introduce innovative ways to create profitable, socially acceptable agriculture. And it also benefits the environment (soil, water, climate), biodiversity, and farmers in countries at different levels of development.

I hope that the temporary difficulties faced by all businesses around the world will allow us all to continue these trends. And the fourth industrial revolution (4IR), coupled with agricultural innovations, will continue to move humanity to a new stage of development.
